According to reporters, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) every year on some of the fruits and vegetables agricultural residue sample content and pesticide type test, and analysis of the results. The ranking is based on an analysis of data from 2000 to 2009.
Most pesticides: Apples
Pesticide residues were found in 98 percent of more than 700 samples of 53 fruits and vegetables. 92 percent of the samples contained more than one pesticide, and apples jumped to the top of the pesticide blacklist from fourth place last year.
No. 2: Celery
Celery came in second, with 96 percent of the samples tested positive for pesticides, including one that contained 13 pesticides.
Most kinds of pesticides: peppers
Pepper was the most widely used pesticide, with 97 pesticides in all samples.
